Alain Uyttenhoven was born in Burundi in 1961. He is married and has two adult sons. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration, he joined the automotive industry, where he has been working for more than 30 years. He worked for Daimler-Benz in Belgium and Germany in various positions (marketing, sales, retail). In his last position, he was Vice President with worldwide responsibility for the product management of the passenger car model range. In 1999 he joined the Management Board of Adam Opel AG, where he was responsible for brand and product management. In 2004, Alain Uyttenhoven joined Toyota Motor Europe in Brussels as Vice President Customer Service. After 3 years in this position, he was seconded to Toyota Germany as Managing Director where he was responsible for Sales, Marketing and After Sales. In 2011 he returned to Brussels as Vice President Product Management for Toyota Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles. In 2014 he took over the management of Lexus Europe, a position he held for 4 years. Since January 2018, Alain Uyttenhoven has had overall responsibility for Toyota Deutschland GmbH as President. In addition to his professional activities, he has several passions: Flying, classic cars, cooking.
