Automotive Trend Forum 2018

This international science and economic congress focuses on the latest trends in automotive sales and marketing. The whole-day event is held at CongressPark Wolfsburg. Approximately 600 international Automotive Trend Forum participants in Wolfsburg come from business and science. Top experts from all over the world present the latest studies, examples of best-practice and offer solutions for your specific problems. All lectures will be translated simultaneously. In addition to numerous managers from the Volkswagen Group, guests also include participants from other automotive manufacturers, the supply industry, the automotive trade, medium-sized businesses and importers. The science representatives are mainly professors, employees and students of the Ostfalia University or our partner universities abroad.

Introductory words from Jürgen Stackmann

Shaping future mobility is a highly exciting and at the same time demanding task for all automotive companies. Presenting the customer with the best mobility solution for their individual needs is the central challenge of the sector. To do so, it is essential to recognise the economic, political and social trends at an early stage. The developments in the field of digitization require a radical re-think in many sectors. Especially in the automotive industry, new business areas are emerging. This forces many companies to leave their own comfort zone. Is the product the customer needs still the “car” as we know it? What will the relevant success factors of products and companies be in the future? What are the business models of New Mobility like? How should buying processes be redesigned? What role does the stationary dealer play? As the patron of the Automotive Trend Forum Wolfsburg I am looking forward to new solution approaches, ideas from lateral thinkers, inspiring lectures and provoking discussions on the 02 and 03 May in Wolfsburg.

Introductory words from Fred Kappler

The Volkswagen Group and its competitors are working on the mobility of tomorrow. The production of emotional products will not be enough in the long term to survive in the market. In the future, automotive manufacturers will have to position themselves by means of intelligent, environmentally friendly and individual customer solutions. Under the banner of digitisation and New mobility, the automotive business is going though a period of fundamental change. New challenges and new competitors require that we continue to develop our current sales systems in order to inspire and convince our customers also in the future.  We as the Volkswagen Group want to play a key role in shaping this change. A regular look outside the box is essential in order to recognise new impulses and trends early on. We are very pleased to welcome you to the Automotive Trend Forum this year and to engage in a lively exchange with you on the subject of New mobility.
